Storify launches a new look with a stronger foundation today!

I’m glad to read today that Storify have made lots of changes – They say they have rebuilt it from the ground up.

Storify is a new way of blogging your life in social media – You can make stories from the social web using moments, tweets, in the realtime. Just search on a subject on various platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, and Google plus and make your own story!

Storify was Co-founded by@burtherman and @xdamman

I’ve always loved the idea of this, but to be honest most of the time, it didn’t work that well for me for various reasons, but now they have made big changes, I hoping that my problems with Storify are all over.  Then instead of screen printing the results like this I can actually embed a story.

The changes are …….

  • A new logo and new look. The search and the editor sides of the interface have been switched, and we have made it easier to add text to stories. Photo searches are displayed in gallery format and pictures shown larger in stories. Saving stories is more reliable.
  • A revised bookmarklet and all-new Storypad that lets you collect and save media from all over the web, and easily share what you’ve gathered with other Storify users. You can use media from anyone’s Storypad in any story.
  • Smoother drag-and-drop functionality, which makes it easier to build stories and reorganize them.
  • A collapsed view of your Storify story while it’s being built, so you can see it easily and organize it better.
Okay so maybe its not going to correct my problems of embedding the stories to WordPress and not really getting an answer on twitter, but I love it so much – I will carry on with how I am using it already, and hope they keep going with the improvements. Its worth the wait. Love it!
Hope this helps

How many views does your blog get from Twitter ?

Picture: Twitter developers

Soon you should be able to find out how many views you get via Twitter as today Twitter announce the release of its Web Analytics Tool.

We all love data, we love to see how much we are getting, where it is coming from and how long for.  Analytics platforms are popping up more and more each with more or different information.

Twitter have been keen show off its true influence since bringing out its own URL shortener which automatically shortens links of over 20 characters. They said it was to protect users from malicious sites where you may get hacked or a virus as Twitters link service is checked by potentially dangerous sites.  However we noticed right away in our usual analytics tools that lots of our traffic was infact coming from Twitter, and one of the reasons we knew this was because of Not a surprise for Twitter.

Previous to that we saw that Twitter had acquired BackType who are involved in social analytics, they said then they will be developing tools for Twitter, So that is who is running this show here for Twitter.

BackType has been acquired by Twitter

With Twitter Web Analytics, we will get our wish for more data, more information about how much traffic is coming from Twitter, regarding links and tweet buttons.

According to the twitter developers blog Twitter Web Analyrics will be free,  will be available to a small number of partners in beta and will roll out to all website owners within the next few weeks.

Website owners….  So, I wonder if that means people with sites such as blogspot, blogger, tumblr will be privy to this information.

We will have to see.

Hope this helps

How to delete a blogspot or blogger blog.

Blogger is google’s free tool for bloggers to create their own blog website. It is very simple to set up and you can have many blogs using the same account. Blogger will host this blog on for free. (Which is the difference between Blogger and Blogspot by the way) Its very easy to use, mostly with guides and instructions. Adding pictures and videos is a breeze especially if you use Picasa/ Google Video or You Tube. All free… great huh?

so.. Why would you want to delete your blog on blogger or blogspot?

You haven’t visited it for a year, even though you promised yourself you would write every week, no one is reading your blog or maybe Google just doesn’t do it for you anymore and you want to start a fresh with another platform such as WordPress. For whatever reason, you want it gone, forever.

Be aware, this isn’t to show you how to export your blogspot blog or to keep any part of it, this is to permanently get rid of it.

Step by step instructions.

Double Whammy hack today – Spider Facebook Survey Scam and Bad thing about you on Twitter

Double Whammy Scam today…

First up  – Facebook

There is a link appearing on twitter titled Omg Spider Under The Skin with a blogspot link, my friends have told me that they are seeing this so much on Facebook that it is getting annoying –  so its going viral – god knows why because as usual who on earth wants to watch that. ewww.

Its a another survey scam !

It first takes you to an age verification page, when you click this it shares the page to all of your friends. Next, you will be taken to a survey that promises that you could win gifts if you take part, you don’t, you just are paying the scammers for filling it out.

If you have clicked this then, remove all evidence of it on your news feed, and put out an apology saying it is fake, so no one else clicks it.  Then check your likes page and remove it from there, and I’d even change your password to be on the safe side.

If in doubt – DON’T CLICK !

Twitter – I recieved this one today, virtually the same as the Is this blog about you and Is this you in this picture.

Someone said this real bad thing about you in a blog – very tempting to click – but it is fake, when you click it, I assume you have to allow it access to your account and which it hacks and sends a DM to all or some of your friends.

If you have clicked this then check your allowed applications by going to …

Settings – applications – and revoke access to anything suspicious and change your password – and it would be nice if you told your friends its fake.

Hope this helps.

How to easily add StatCounter to your blog or web page editor

People have been asking me where I get these maps from for my blogs. They are from Statcounter. Statcounter is a free web tracker and hit counter which helps you to analyse and monitor all of the visitors to your website or blog in REAL-TIME.

I love the way it is instantly updated, its clear and easy to use. It also appears to be more accurate than others I have used.

It not just a hitcounter as you may think, it has all of these features.

Invisible Counter Option, Configurable Counter,Configurable Summary Stats, Magnify User, Drill Down, Popular Pages, Entry Pages, Exit Pages, Came From, Keyword Analysis, Recent Keyword Activity,Search Engine Wars, Visitor Paths, Visit Length,Returning Visits, Recent Pageload Activity, Recent Visitor Activity, Country/State/City Stats, Recent Visitor Google Map, ISP Stats, Browser Stats, O.S. Stats, Resolution Stats, JavaScript Stats, Email Reports, Multiple Site Management, User Access Management, Public Stats, Blocking Cookie

Beneath your code will be detailed instructions on how to install the code, some with pictures, the blogspot/blogger guide has great step by step instructions.

How to remove yourself from your Statcounter

  • Click Wrench (top left)
  • Click Create blocking cookie
  • Click Stop logging my visits

My Blog 2010 – including Top 5 Posts.

I’d been looking through some stats from last year and I have been very pleased with how my blog has evolved and how interest has grown.  After, at first not really knowing how it was going to turn out or what I would blog about, its turned itself around and ended up being more of help or information page, with reviews and my views on various applications, programs, and subjects. Which I’ve enjoyed very much, I look forward to being offered more trials or beta testing in the future, so that I can let you know my findings.

Don’t forget you can contact me via email on if you have anything that would you like me to test or find out about.

It was interesting to see which posts had received the most views, so in celebration of that, I thought I’d just post them again.
