Jelly the New Search App – Co-founder Biz Stone

Jelly the new search appI’m very excited about Jelly the new search app by Jelly Inc. Jelly has been launched this week on iOS and Android and is a question and answer application, related to search, which I am live testing while writing this post!

When I first heard about it I thought maybe it was like Quora but its very different.

By the way, Jelly’s co-founders are Ben Finkel and Biz Stone the Twitter Co-founder so I expect good things!

What Is Jelly The New Search App

Jelly is a new way to search, that uses photos and people from your social network.  People love to help and as Biz Stone says “If you have a question there is somebody out there that knows the answer”

Its like this – You might see a flower and you want to know the name of it, you just post on the application and hopefully one or many of your followers/friends, will answer the question for you, its like a social search.  A much quicker way than taking the picture, uploading it to Facebook and then posting it to Twitter, plus people on the app are just waiting to answer questions so you are more likely to get an answer.

How To Get Started Using Jelly The New Search App

Download Jelly from the App Store or Google Play

You have to sign up using Twitter or Facebook – something that I would prefer not to do actually, but you will need to add these networks for Jelly to work so I understand.  You can then add the other if you wish.  There is no profile to add and no settings at all really.   The information is just taken from the networks you add.  You don’t even add friends here, your friends are the people already in your networks.  If they have the app they will automatically be able to answer your questions

Ask a Question

When you first sign up it takes you to the camera ready for you to Point – Shoot – Ask.  You simply take your picture, write some text, you can add a link and edit the text if need be. Then, press send and your question is asked.  Or you can choose a picture from your photo library – or Google a picture (These images aren’t all public domain though so I’m not sure how that stands)

Answer a question.

If you have nothing to ask then you can click at the bottom where is says – People want to help and you to go to the Can You Help page – here you can either answer, or swipe down to get rid of the question and it goes to the next one.  You can see who has answered the question and read their answer, and if you click on their picture,  it shows you that you can view their Twitter and Facebook profiles, if they have added both.  Edit, no it only shows the one that they logged in with.

jelly inc

Note – I had an answer right away from my question, it was rude and unhelpful and from someone not in my networks a but person that does have mutual friends (not much help there then) – so it looks like friends of friends are allowed to answer your questions, unless this is a bug?   I found later that you can report these types of answers by clicking Don’t Like or Report as inappropriate – so I did.

Edit – a few hours later I had 11 answers to my question, which is pretty amazing – most were guesses and 2 were right.   To view the answers its easiest to go back to your original question and click on where it says answers and you can flick sideways through them.  You can then thank people and they are sent a note that says they got a thank you card.   Not sure what happens then, I have one thank you card for my answer and it just says at the bottom  1 Thank You Card.

When you ask or answer a question if is saved your activity  folder and you can share the answer it to email, SMS, Twitter or Facebook for forward the question to SMS, Email or clipboard, so that you can get other people involved that aren’t using the app.

If you didn’t add your other social network right away you can do so by clicking the profile icon – looks like a person in a circle and press the cog at the bottom right hand side.

And that seems to be about that, there doesn’t appear to be anywhere to search for particular questions, or change your settings, its just simply Questions and Answers.

I am reading that there are a few bugs, such as the app crashing or not being able to add the other network but this is a totally new application and just getting its first users, so be nice people I’m sure the bugs will be ironed out.  I didn’t have any other problems however.

What do you think of this new app, is this the next new thing?  Or is there something similar already, I don’t think so.

Free Live Streaming using Hang w/ 2.1 Mobile App

live streaming using hang wLive Streaming using Hang w/ couldn’t be easier with the recent up date from MEDL Mobile to version 2.1

When Hang w/ was first released in March 2013 users were asking for more integration, more simplification and more features and Andrew Maltin CEO, Dave Swartz CCO and the rest of the team were listening.  First Hang w/ was updated to 2.0 and now 2.1 has arrived with all the new features added to the mix.

What does this mean – Live Streaming using Hang w/

Hang w/ is a free live streaming platform that was born out of the need to prove that people are real, in real time – no more being fake on social media as Celebrities use Twitter teams to tweet for them or post updates to Facebook its time to show themselves and get social.  Not even just celebrities but everyone, including you!

Hang out with a celebrity or become a celebrity

With Hang w/  which just stands for Hangwith/(your name)  you can hangout with anyone live streaming a video, you can talk them during the live streaming via text, and or go back to look at it another time.  You can alos *like” the broadcasts, if you like it.   You need never miss a live stream simply by setting your phone to send a push  notification when anyone that you are following goes live.

With the new features you have –

  • – Longer Broadcasts  (I believe up to 9 minutes)
  • – Broadcast Directly to Facebook
  • – Broadcast loading enhancements
  • – Optimized live stream to Facebook
  • – Archives can now be shared to Facebook
  • – Added blocked users management
  • – Bug fixes and optimizations

There are loads of celebrities already live streaming using Hang w/ here are just a few…

  • • Timbaland
  • • Kaskade
  • • Chad Ohcocinco
  • • Dillon Francis
  • • Chief Keef
  • • Ali Landry
  • • Urijah Faber
  • • Jamie Kennedy

Will I see inappropriate comments or live streams on Hang w/?

There was a worry about Porn on Vine for a while, and now Vine has (is it just me that thinks this?) mostly not so great videos I’m hoping that Hang w/ will keep up with the flags and get rid of the rubbish quickly.

Hang w/ accounts will be suspended if flagged as objectionable by users, if found to be in violation of the Terms of Service.

You need to be careful that your live streams don’t contain

  • Hate speech or rudeness
  • Bit of your body no one wants to see
  • Anything perverse
  • Crimes
  • Basically as they say, anything you wouldn’t want your mum to see!

I love that! 🙂

hangwith

To start Live Streaming using Hang w/

Hang w/ is so simple to set up.  First you need to create your own channel –  set up your profile, you can add to it Facebook or Twitter – add your profile picture, your real name and a user name.  You need to have your email address verified before you can start to live stream though.

Its easy to find people you want to follow by using the categories, or search and you can watch their previous broadcasts from their profile.

I like the Broadcasting Now button as you don’t need to be following these people you can just click this and it takes you to a selection of people that are actually live streaming right now which is very exciting.  However when I just looked there was just one person that was watching TV, not so exciting however, and unusual it seems as there are hundreds of  thousands of users on this platform. Everyone must be still recovering from New Years Eve!

Hang w/ is available on iOS or Android and you can even watch from Facebook so it couldn’t be easier live streaming using Hang w/  check it out – add me Michelledh – I’ve not started streaming yet but if anything was going to convince me to do so, this is the app to do it.

Iphone Compatibility: Requires iOS 7.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

christmas jumper day

Christmas Jumper Day – Friday 13th December

Christmas Jumper BridgetThis Friday the 13th of December it is Christmas Jumper Day.  If you were a child of the 80’s you might remember the outlandish and lets face it “ugly” Christmas jumpers that we were bought for Christmas from Grandma.

It seeming became popular because TV celebrities started to wear them on Christmas specials.  Mark Darcy from Bridget Jones’s Dairy wasn’t embarrassed about his Christmas Jumper but we’d decided by then that this type of sweater was not a good fashion statement.

Mark Darcy: I realize that when I met you at the turkey curry buffet, I was unforgivably rude, and wearing a reindeer jumper.

Somehow,  in  2010 these jumpers became popular again and that trend has been increasing for the most original festive Christmas Jumper since.  Now we can’t get enough!

Save the Children

The Save the Children charity has organised  Christmas Jumper Day or Sweater Day for a few years now, raising money for the charity by encouraging people to wear their Christmas Jumpers on the chosen day.

How to take part.

Sign up for your free fundraising kit.

  • Tell everyone! Get colleagues, friends and family to join in.
  • Buyborrow or decorate your own Christmas jumper.
  • Wear your woolly on Friday 13 December.
  • Donate £1 or more to Save the Children.
  • Pay in your fundraising or text WOOLLY to 70050 to donate £1
You’ll be billed £1 plus standard rate text message. We receive at least £0.99 depending on your network. Include NO INFO to stop further communications. Queries? Call 020 7012 6400

How to stand out on Christmas Jumper Day

You’ll need to be quick to be the most original and festive on this Christmas Jumper Day as you only have a few days, you can of course decorate your own knitwear, which always goes down well.

However, if you want to stand out in the crowd and blow everyone’s mind you might want to try one of Mark Rober’s ugly digital Christmas sweaters from morphsuits.com where you slide your smartphone into a slot on the jumper and play one of the Digital Dudz app animations and it looks like your Jumper is alive!
fire-jumperAnother eye catching idea is the 3D Christmas jumpers like the Reindeer jumper with the nose that flashes from Christmas Jumper King
christmas Jumper day

Even John Lewis has a huge range of Christmas Jumpers this year, it seems like its going to be a very festive knit wearing year.

We can’t wait to see everyone’s photos on the social networks on Christmas Jumper Day this year, ( I believe the hash tag is #xmasjumperday )  its going to be great fun!

puzzle dungeon

Puzzle Dungeon, a retro style indie game for iPhone

puzzle dungeonThe retro style indie game Puzzle Dungeon was developed by Robert Lane from the UK and was launched on the iPhone on October the 10th 2013.  This game has just come at the right time, we are hooked on these types of puzzle games and we love a blast from the past, ahhh nostalgia!

Robert says he loves nostalgia and would like smart phones to bring back the old days with video games. It seems that this is now happening as games like this are becoming more popular with young and old and I love it!

How to play Puzzle Dungeon

The aim of Puzzle Dungeon is to get this seriously cute little character with blue hair to push wooden crates on to a target area (which has been an orange squares so far) in the least number of steps possible, and similar to many other games you can compete with your friends for the fewest number moves (pushes).

It’s really strange to play this 16 bit type game by touching the screen, you really feel like you have travelled back in time and must have a keyboard or later a controller.  So, how do you play Puzzle Dungeon? … The tutorial button doesn’t actually work as there isn’t a tutorial.  No, this is not part of the puzzle and will be fixed in an update due very soon.  Simply, all you do is swipe your finger across the screen in the direction that you want … what’s his name? I guess it’s me but let’s call him Bert… Bert to go and that is one step, moves are called steps, and it’s your job to get Bert to do the least number of steps possible.  At first, movement feels a bit clunky – and I realised that its actually not, its very smooth but steps are short which makes it feel abrupt.

If you make some mistakes and realise this, you can just restart the level by clicking the back button, and press play again.

puzzled

Levels in Puzzle Dungeon

Right now there are 60 levels in puzzle dungeon and if that doesn’t sound enough – 10 Community levels are going to be added via a competition, (more about that later). And then they’re going to be a further 60 free levels coming in December, which I think some might have a Christmas theme.   I like this use of the word free here, I’m not sure if this means there will be levels you can buy, or will that be the community levels, maybe.

puzzle

Leaderboard

If you are a member of the game centre as soon as you install this game and open it, it will open in game centre, which has all of your friends and their scores. If you check the leaderboard on the front page of this game then you will see your friend’s scores on the left and the top scores on the right.  Woohoo I am 4th on level 6 !

You can also challenge your friends here to beat your scores.

Competition Community Created Levels

There is a community competition for people to design their own levels, its free to enter and all you have to do is send in  your drawing of your level by the 31st of October The best 10 entries will be chosen, created and will appear in the game.

It would be fantastic for anyone that reads this to help and share the word – press the share buttons here – tell your friends, of course get the game – its as cheap as chips and more fun  These guys and gals that make these games are game designers, not PR people, what does it take for us to help a little, a bit of time, that’s it. They can’t afford to buy Fairy Dust to create a buzz about their games however inexpensive and excellent it is at this stage, next time maybe.

tinder dating app

What’s different about the Dating Application called Tinder?

tinderI recently found out about the free GPS dating application called Tinder from a friend of mine (honestly)!  I’ve never used dating sites for myself, not saying that I wouldn’t, I think they are a great idea, if you can be sure its safe.

Some of the dating sites seem a bit too formal though and that’s how this one is different, it seems easier and more fun.  Although some have called it a sex satnav and said that people are using it to meet people for sex.  Which is all very well if that is what is expected but it then becomes a worry that this app is rated 12+ but that’s another blog post…

What is different about Tinder?

There are many people searching for romance, love or sex and apparently this dating application has been a winner so far, with many many downloads, matches and engagements that have happened this year, so why is it different?    Basically its FUN, its not stuffy, and doesn’t require you to fill out huge forms expressing your feelings or anything at all for that matter; you can get going straight away to find a suitable match in your area!  Using Tinder’s GPS system you can input mileage range and it will show you who is around you, that maybe you have friends in common with or the same interests or likes using the dating application, so right away you are both looking for the same thing in the same place.

With Tinder you have to sign in using Facebook, which usually I do not like in an application, I prefer to choose if I want to connect a social networking site, but in this case I think its a good idea, as it gives you some level of trust, it takes at least two pictures from your Facebook – your profile and others  which you can choose I believe. Although of course you could set up a fake Facebook account very easily and put  fake pictures on there, or you might already have this set up, there are certainly enough Fake Facebook accounts.

What I like about this application is because shows if you have the same likes or the same friends you instantly have something to talk about, and you can ask your friends about them too.  Also you are still anonymous in a way as only your first name is used, nothing is posted to Facebook, and you can adjust your profile settings.

tinder

How to use Tinder

So you’ve chosen if you are interested in boys or girls, what ages you are interested in and your radius – be it 5 miles or 50 miles whatever, then it brings up profiles of all the people in your area.  Looking through the photos to choose – you swipe through the pictures to the left or press the X until you see one you like and if you like it you press a heart, or swipe it to the right which also says that you are interested and hope that the other person presses on your heart, then you have a match it asks you if you want to chat or carry on.  If you want to read more about the person then, press the i for information,  its so simple and easy.  The good thing here is you are not told that someone has liked you until they like you too, and you have a match, so this cuts down embarrassment.  People cannot message you unless you have liked them, and if they get creepy there is a block function.

How Jackie uses Tinder

My friend, who we will call Jackie, had tried the dating application day before with a 5 mile radius and now was trying a larger range.  Addicted to how easy and fun this game was; yes it is a game Jackie told me, she was eager to show me what a laugh she was having with it.

Jackie logged in and began swiping through the pictures very fast, saying, No, no, no…too old, too fat, too bald, too skinny.  I was starting to get worried about how superficial it is.   Suddenly she called out, “Oh, that one had a friend in common.”  – “Who?” I asked, she said “Erm, I don’t know he’s gone now”  “Gone forever?” I asked.  “Looks like it”. Jackie said, without a care.  I asked her why she was swiping so fast, how can she read about the people to find out what they are like.   Jackie then explained that she wasn’t interested in reading bios, that she was scanning photos, if they look good then she might look further, but she’s not bothered about a bio, as they are usually boring and untrue and no one ever likes writing them.  I thought has the world come to this, are we that shallow that we don’t want to meet anyone unless they look HOT?   But she went on to say …  this for instance  I am Sam and I like football, going to bars and meeting people. That doesn’t tell you anything about the person, it makes him sound dull and boring, and I like to find out these things through chatting with them naturally. Just like with real life, if you like the look of someone in a club you might strike up a conversation to find out more, that’s just what happens here, it is superficial but its how life works.  She does have a point.

All of a sudden she’s reading out a profile to me, saying, he sounds nice… “But you just said?”  “I know, but I like this one and I was intrigued.” Jackie replies thoughtfully, clicking his heart.

After swiping through many disguarded and I might say very unlucky men of which she’d managed to heart two of them, she exclaims, “Oh no, I’ve ran out of men!”   There were no more men in her chosen area, she had gone through all of them.  And right at that moment she got a notification to say that she had a match… how very exciting!

So, we are yet to see if you can meet the love of your life using this Dating Application called Tinder, or if you might just have some fun with it.  This remains to be seen.

Just remember to be SAFE if you are arranging to meet a stranger on a date for the first time – You must tell people where you are going and meet in a crowded place

This application is available on iPhone and more recently Android

Tinder Messaging UPDATE

Since I wrote this post a week ago my friend hasn’t found love or even close to it,  she has had a few chats with her matches, but mostly the men have been pretty disappointing in contacting.  Two guys were obviously looking for easy sex and one was just plain boring and the rest haven’t amounted to anything.

Messages without Matches

However the reason for the update is that my friend has been getting emails or messages I think they are,  from people that she hasn’t matched with – about 4 so far – this isn’t supposed to happen, when I asked @tinder about it – they said that she must have swiped the wrong way by mistake, when I explained that she hadn’t even had a matched notification, they didn’t reply – I tweeted them again after this happened for a 4th time but Tinder are yet to comment.

Although its no big deal – she can just block these people – it does appear that there is a bug or something is not working, as you are not supposed to be able to message people on Tinder unless you have matched.

Please let us know, if you have found this problem too.

Glide Video Texting App

Glide Video Texting App

glideappThis Free Glide Video Texting App looks really cool.

With Glide you are able to send video messages that are saved in the cloud to watch later or you can use the video to have real time chat.  With just one person or even in a group.

To me, right now glide does sound just awesome.

They just did one thing to let me down.

Log in with Facebook

The only down side for me is that you have to (at the moment) log in via Facebook.  However don’t freak out, they are working on some other sign up options.  In one way signing up with Facebook does give the app some security.  As obviously its only people you call  your friends that can send you Glides.  However with a stand alone app you could have it so that only people you allow can send you video messages, maybe even with a code like BBM.

Another thing I’m concerned with using Facebook or Twitter to sign in are the extra messages you will get, and I have seen reports of spam which can only be the reason for this – please no private messages or dm’s for people to sign up? Please let me know if you have received spam? I’d like to know why.

It seems the spam problem is thank fully sorted out.

glide

Glide Video Texting

We all know by now that video is the way to go – look at how popular Vine is and Instagram videos (not including YouTube here as its not really instant sharing)  and with live chat people love skype, Google hangouts and Face-time.  Glide seems to be all of those things put together.

Glide Instant video messages

With Smart Phones now you can have any virtually any social media or network or messaging app at your finger tips – this is why texting is so last year and people love to see you, to see what you are doing, its more personal more attainable and the Glide Video Texting App is instant.   Messages with Glide are immediately broadcast as it is recording, so that if the person is available they will see it right away, they don’t have to be there they can look at it later if they want.  What I like about it is that its not two way as such, and if you are in a hurry and just want to send a quick message you don’t get delayed by questions, HA – people can they answer you with another video but you can watch it later.  You can even invite several people to watch, those that are around will see right away, others will be notified they have a Video message.

I want to wait until they have another way of logging in before I get my Glide Video Texting app set up, but I may give in to peer pressure before that time – its all ready and waiting on my iPhone so I hope they hurry!

I think this video from Glide will explain it more clearly.

So what is Glide, exactly?

Requirements: Compatible with iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad (3rd generation), iPad Wi-Fi + 4G, iPad (4th generation), iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular (4th generation), iPad mini and iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular. Requires iOS 6.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

Have you tried Glide?  What do you think?

Instagram video launched

Instagram Video! Facebook’s Instagram have now added video to the instagram app.

The video can be upto 15 seconds long and you can filter and share it just like you do your images.

Where can I get instagram video

This is available right now on iOS and android.

instagram video

Just update your app in the app store – Google play or in iTunes for iPhone and as if by magic you have the new feature of movie making.

instagram video3

As you can see here the video icon is there !

Its very exciting to have these changes to Instagram, its a great app and I must say that I use it often. I love how easy it is to enhance images and then share them on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr and now we can do this with video, exactly the same way as we do with images.

I did a quick video just to test it out – and it works pretty much the same as Vine but you have a button.  http://instagram.com/p/aynxI7hXOf/?autoplay=true   The only trouble is that when I posted it to Twitter it tweeted PHOTO! No its not a photo!

instagram video2

Competition for Vine

What about Vine though, does this mean we won’t use Vine as much or is the extra 9 seconds enough to make us switch to Instagram Video!  What do you think?  I think I will probably just use both, as I have different communities on both – Instagram has many of my Empire Ave buddies.

Enjoy, let us know what you think?  Maybe even share your videos with me on @techieminx or below

Mood Watch the iPhone app helping Mood Disorders

moodwatch

This clever iOS application for iPhone and iPad is used to track the moods of people with Mood Disorders. It helps people suffering with depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder and even people just feeling a little low to track how they are feeling mentally, physically and emotionally in order to help them understand themselves better, and to hopefully enrich their lives.

Who created the app Mood Watch and why?

I found this an interesting story – Kim Knox, who has Bipolar I – created this application after tracking her own moods during a stay at psychiatric hospital.  She started with just five coloured pencils and a note book and began charting how she felt, adding notes about her blood pressure, sleep, what tablets she took and much more information to see how these things were affecting her moods. It was helping her learn about herself but it was so time consuming it was then she thought about creating application to help collate all of this information.

It sounds complicated but its actually very simple to use, and the application creates an easy to read chart that should pinpoint a theme to when you are experiencing mood swings or issues.  The report and be forwarded to your doctor or whoever you wish by importing it into an Excel document.

The Mood Watch application is Endorsed by the International Bipolar Foundation.

How to use The Mood Watch application

mood watch application

When you first log in to the application it asks you

  • How you are feeling
  • How much sleep you’ve had
  • How you feel the quality of that sleep was.

If you then have a blood pressure meter you can put your results here for first thing in the morning.

You then scroll down and enter your blood pressure reading for after you’ve taken your tablets.

Scroll down further still and add how you rate your

  • Energy
  • Anxiety
  • Mood
  • Calmness
  • Focus

moods

To do this does take practice, you need to slide the middle white dot up to where you want to put it, you need to press lightly or you will scroll the screen up to the next chart.

On the last page in this section you can enter notes for the Morning, Noon and Evening.

Next click on the second section – titled Meds

meds Mood watch

Here you quite simply add the information for the medication you are taking (which you can either select from a list or add your self) the dosage, and how often you take them.

On the last next page is your report – I’ve only completed one day so there isn’t much on my report – so here is a sample from Moodwatchapp.com and next to that is the report imported into Excel.

Mood Watch Spreading the Word

Mental health is very important to all of us, so many people suffer from various mood disorders, if its not ourselves, we all know someone who is suffering.  We need to reach out and help whenever and where we can.

Mood Watch is available now on iTunes for just 69p but they need a little help getting the word out, letting the world know that it is available, by speaking at engagements and conferences, help with marketing and press releases, they also want to translate the application into six other languages.  This all costs lost of money – you can help and get involved by going to the Mood Watch Indiegogo page.

Just adding a $1 donation will help a great deal, if you cannot donate maybe you could help by sharing the page on your social networks.

Other ways to help support Mood Watch

Whats all the fuss about #vine for Twitter and Facebook

vine-

Vine is an iOS video sharing app created by Vine Labs, Inc which was acquired by Twitter in October 2012 and launched two weeks ago for iPhone and iPad.

With all of the image sharing applications we already have, plus Google’s YouTube, I wondered what all of the fuss was about.

Vine is a little bit different

Vine challenges you to create interesting short videos of only six seconds!  Vine is simplicity itself, similar to Twitter they wanted to keep things simple. There is no editing to this app – no fancy ways to make the video look vintage or colourful or even a way to add text  or music to the video. No going back once you’ve shot it, its delete or start again. Which strangely makes it even more interesting, as we are all in the same position to try to create something unique, beautiful or interesting that people want to watch.

Vine is Addictive

These short videos are extremely addictive to watch, we all have a short attention span and there is no play button so you just scroll down through the videos watching each one as it comes across your screen, some of them are so clever, and some are not so much.

Porn on Vine

As soon as Vine was launched Twitter was under-fire  as people complained about the application being flooded with porn – to combat this Twitter added an age rating of 17 to the iOS application, not sure why 17 or if this will help but it is a start, and to be honest, I’ve not seen any porn videos on Vine, but then I haven’t searched. Personally I wonder if this whole porn thing was hype created to get more people to look at Vine, but as I say I won’t be going looking for six second adult rated videos, goodness knows what that would contain.  If you do see a video that you felt was unappropriated you can report it, by pressing the 3 shaded buttons on the bottom right of the video.

How to create a video on Vine

  • Click the Camera Button
  • Press the screen when you want to record,
  • When you depress the screen this pauses the video,
  • You can stop and start as many times as you like within 6 seconds.
  • You add a caption, here you can add some keyworks or hashtags too.
  • Click Done

(I have read some people do encounter problems when having long pauses on videos but Vine say they are fixing this)

Add your Location if you wish.

You can then share to Twitter, Facebook or Vine, if you don’t share to Vine, then the video will be stored in your photo Album

Click Done again and there is your video created.

So simple.

How to watch videos on Vine

You have the option to explore Vine

Vine

Or you can Go to your profile – add friends and then scroll through your stream  to watch what your friends have created.

What I do miss on Vine, is the ability to share videos from the application that I’ve seen, with my friends to my other networks. You can like videos that you “like” and comment on them but that’s it.  I do like that you can’t share on Vine itself, this does stop you having to watch the same video again and again as your friends all sharing the same thing – as they do on Google+ or Facebook, but I would like to be able to say – Hey look at this video…

But apart from that I am addicted oh yes, check out my Vines and Cake

What do you think of the Vine app?  Are businesses already making use of Vine ?

You can download Vine from itunes

Alarm system Lost Kidz app for ios Partners with Caudwell Children

Lost Kidz is a free app for iPhone and iPad which was developed by E-Scape and co founded by Stephen Ferm,  developed to enable parents to send out an alert to other parents in the area if their child goes missing.

How does Lost Kidz work

The Lost Kidz application has an alarm system so that when a child goes missing it alerts all the other parents with the application within a 10 mile radius that your child is missing and that they must look out for them, the alert includes their current photo and any relevant information about the child.

The Alert creates an instant ‘White Hot’ safety zone around the location of a missing child, acting as a deterrent to anyone intent on harming a lone child and a safety net against the risk of accidental harm – as the the eyes of the Lost Kidz community will be watching and on alert.

The Lost Kidz IOS app is a free application for the iPhone, iPod and iPad but it does cost to add your child to register your child, however this is only 69p per year. Lostkidz will be available on Android soon.

The application requires you to sign up with your email which is fully validated and your mobile number which has to have location settings on to receive alerts, they do this as parents need to trust who is receiving this information, Lost Kidz is a community where trust and safety are taken very seriously.  Lost Kidz are registered with the relevant Data protection agencies and have a full and pubic privacy policy. Lost kidz are also working alongside American Humane Association to make a safer world for kids.
