Covid19 is really having a bit impact on social media as you know you are probably on it more yourself. A business may be closed and even unable to trade but now is the time to build your brand. Build your social media presence!  You don’t need to sell, you need to show people who you are, let them know you are human.

Firstly let me explain TikTok if you do not know about this social network.

What is TikTok?

TikTok was launched in 2016 and as it merged with Musical.ly in 2018. TikTok is a social network for sharing user-generated videos by ByteDance.  You can create short videos, dancing, lip sync, comedy, and other talents you might have, but now it’s being used to deliver key messages by the NHS and our government.

TikTok is pledging $250 million to organizations providing coronavirus relief and whats more TikTok has actually donated 5 million to the Royal college of nursing foundation.  This is the biggest donation by a social media company so far, with Jack Dorsey giving $1 billion of his personal stake to fund COVID 19 relief.

Is TikTok safe for kids.

People think that TikTok is just for kids, however, adult supervision is advisable.  Tiktok says you must be at least 13 to use the app with the approval of an adult.  13 is the age you must be on many many social networks.

What TikTok Say

TikTok can be even riskier than other social media sites because groomers and perverts know exactly where to go to find videos of kids and to start working on them.      Parents need to make sure that kids have all privacy settings so that only friends can see their videos or message them.  Make sure it’s set to Freinds not Everyone.

How can my teen control who sees their videos and sends them messages?Users can control who can see their uploaded content, follow them, and send them messages by making their account private. With a private account, users can approve or deny followers and restrict their uploaded content and incoming messages to followers only.If a user has a public profile, anyone signed into the TikTok app can view that user’s public videos. However, only approved followers can send that user a message. Whether users choose to have a public or a private account, they can always:

Tiktok adds a new editing feature called Stitch

Just while we are here, – in other news – According to Matt Navarra @MattNavarra and @Sphinx on Twitter. The video-sharing social network TikTok adds a new editing feature called Stitch. Although I see nothing on the TikTok website or app about it yet. So, it could be they are adding it in the near future –  Maybe you have it?  Let me know in the comments.

It seems that you can or will be able to trim a video and record a new ending, this will be good for branding purposes or calls to action, or even for outtakes maybe? Mine looks totally different to this even.

So, actually looking at this it looks like you can stitch something on to a video you do not own … it’ll be interesting to see.

These guys are working hard on this app and really have some great policies and resources to help the community – my hat goes off to them. I’m glad to see they are really trying to look after everyone.
