Cardio Lie Detector iPhone Application

By | October 6th, 2012|Categories: Mobile apps|Tags: , , , , |

I was recently asked to review the Cardio Lie Detector Premium from Ubinuri the Korean software application company who also brought us the app MyLAB PRO.  Ubinuri interesting has recently been invested in by INFOCOM  - Infocom is one of the leading IT companies in Japan. Cardio Lie Detector Cardio Lie Detector Premium is an simple application for your iPhone or iPad that can tell if you are telling a lie or the truth.   The lie detector uses the camera to first sample your heart rate and then when you are being subjected to questioning it compares it to your heart rate to the original sample - because when you lie your heart rate increases.  You can watch this all happening the screen as the application detects your heartbeat. 1. Put your finger over the Camera at the back of the Phone 2. Press start to measure normal heart rate 3. Press start again to ask questions 4. You will get a percentage rating to say if what percentage of a chance it is you are lying.         [...]

Why aren’t all SMEs getting into Social Media

By | September 30th, 2012|Categories: Business|Tags: , , , , , , , |

Image CC - http://www.flickr.com/photos/fidenaut/4486173747/ Some SMEs are not using Social Media or not using it correctly Just being active on social media platforms like Google+ Twitter and Facebook can improve the way consumers view a company. Maybe they should read this How social media can benefit small businesses  If only for customer service, we the consumers want this..   Why? the following story could have been avoided, if the company was more accessible and responsive, correct use of social media can do this. Without going into it, I had already been let down by one company and had lost 4 days. Next stop - Wedo Beds I had seen a few companies on-line offering the same bed and mattress for about the same price on Next Day Delivery. It was quite an unusual bed - as it was 4ft and black/brown - to match other furniture. Businesses supplying this product were companies that I had never heard of, I searched for them on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ nothing. There was nothing on the website with links for social [...]

My impressions of the Nokia X7

By | August 26th, 2011|Categories: Mobile - Reviews and News|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |

I was recently given a Nokia X7 to test out for review from WOMworld Nokia  - my first impressions were of the box actually, the box looked more like something that you would get from Apple (except it was blue) than Nokia, not that a box matters really.  It was just compact and smart looking, I hate it when you get a massive box with lots of plastic with a mobile phone lost inside it, there is no need. On opening the box I was met with the stylish 8 megapixel Smartphone with a 4inch Amoled touchscreen. The X7 is pleasing to the eye, as it is not a standard rectangle shape but each of the corners have a grill design which angle inwards slightly creating an unusual and futuristic appearance. It is solid to touch but also light, it feels good quality and comfortable in your hand. The Gorilla glass scratch protection screen not only is great to look at but is very responsive this makes me happy, especially when this phone is designed for entertainment, the last thing you want [...]

HTC Desire HD Review

By | May 14th, 2011|Categories: Uncategorized|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |

I had been trying to source an HTC windows phone to review so was doing a bit of research and during this time, I was pleased to get an email from Joe from Brando World asking me if I would like to trial an HTC desire HD on Three. I was very happy to accept this offer, having heard a lot about this phone over the months, from my friends that are mobile bloggers. Most of them will obviously know all about this Smartphone by now since it was released in 2010 but maybe you don't. Super-fast boot When I received the Desire HD I was amazed at the superfast boot and thrilled to find it already set up with threeuk minutes available and with an SD card installed, brilliant stuff, thanks Brando. The HTC desire is/was powered with the Android 2.2 and also has the excellent HTC sense, I was hoping to be able to test out the Gingerbread Android 2.3 but the update didn't come around to me yet. Super-size Screen An extremely desirable part about of HTC Desire HD [...]

I'd been looking through some stats from last year and I have been very pleased with how my blog has evolved and how interest has grown.  After, at first not really knowing how it was going to turn out or what I would blog about, its turned itself around and ended up being more of help or information page, with reviews and my views on various applications, programs, and subjects. Which I've enjoyed very much, I look forward to being offered more trials or beta testing in the future, so that I can let you know my findings. Don't forget you can contact me via email on Techieminx@gmail.com if you have anything that would you like me to test or find out about. It was interesting to see which posts had received the most views, so in celebration of that, I thought I'd just post them again. This is why there are Cartoon Characters on Facebook !!You may have noticed lots of people changing their profile pictures on Facebook to cartoon characters and are wondering why.  I must ... The Nokia N900 and the Sketch Application Review

By | September 9th, 2010|Categories: Mobile apps|Tags: , , , , , |

I was excited when Paul contacted me from http://womworld.com/ a Nokia-sponsored platform saying that they had seen and liked my blogs and my art. Paul asked me if would I like to trial the Nokia N900 handset and particularly the Sketch application which comes loaded free on it. Asking me to share my experiences good or bad with the WOMWorld blog. I of course agreed, 1) I love to try out new gadgets/phones and especially applications and 2) I love to draw 3) I love to blog!  ... within 2 days the Nokia N900 was on my doorstep. Another N900 Review This isn't a review on N900, there are currently countless of reviews out there and I'm sure you get the gist. However I would like to say that I felt very comfortable with it. It is pretty heavy compared to a lot of new phones but I soon got used to the size and feel of the handset. I found it straightforward and a pleasure to use... You need to be very firm with the screen to get a response and [...]
