Instagram say – We are NOT going to sell your photos and WE do not own them!

By | December 18th, 2012|Categories: Social Media|Tags: , , , , |

There was a storm caused today on the internet, with people saying they are not going to use instragram anymore over changes to their privacy policy posted on the instagram blog yesterday, that they are going to cancel their accounts.  It was said everywhere that Instagram now own your photos and could sell your images to advertisers, they say this is not true. People are confused and upset say Instagram Instagram insist that they are NOT going to use our photos in advertisements and that Instagram does not have any ownership right over your photos either. You own your own instagram photos.  They say that they worded this badly and they are glad that they didn't intend to make any changes for 30 days so that they can change the wording so that it is clearer in the document. http://blog.instagram.com/post/38252135408/thank-you-and-were-listening The language we proposed also raised question about whether your photos can be part of an advertisement. We do not have plans for anything like this and because of that we’re going to remove the language that raised the question. Ownership [...]

Adding and Removing parts from your new Facebook Profile – Timeline.

By | September 24th, 2011|Categories: Social Media|Tags: , , , , , , , |

Facebook's Timeline is more visual than the old Profile page - its wider and it is going to contain your posts, photos and life events, including the date they happened. People appear to be concerned about this.  They are worried some of these posts, photos or happenings might contain items from the past that they would rather not see again, or want other people to see constantly on one page. Timeline - You decide.  You don't need to worry, although Facebook is going to summarise your Timeline automatically you can add or remove any parts of your story that you want. If there are important topics that haven't been included in your Timeline you can go back to when they happened and just add them or you can go to your "private activity log" and add it to your timeline from there. How do I remove a story from my timeline? Hover over a story on your timeline to see your options: (Feature on Timeline): This allows you to highlight the stories you think are important. When you star a story, the [...]

How to easily rename all of the files in one folder in Windows.

By | June 5th, 2011|Categories: Uncategorized|Tags: , , , , , , , , |

Its like this, you took 100 photo's on your smartphone while you are at the event last week and you want to put them on flickr, photobucket , ImageShack@, Picasa or where ever it is you put your photographs Time is of the essence, you've named the photos with people you know in, and now you are bored and left with 98 un-named photos. :)    If you put them on your image hosting website entitled IMG0234.JPG etc no one will ever be able to find them in a search (Bad SEO) and it just looks awful. So with these 4 easy steps you can name them all "Nokia-Event-Oct11" for example.  Also you may just want to do this to tidy up your photos or files on your computer. Here is how to do it. 1) Open the folder or directory holding the files (photos) you are wishing to rename. 2) Highlight the files you want to rename - For all of the files - Click CTRL A For "most" of them hold down the shift button click and drag [...]

Delete photos on (NEW DESIGN) YFrog – Part two

By | March 29th, 2011|Categories: Uncategorized|Tags: , , , , , , , |

I wrote a post not so long ago about how to delete your photos from YFrog; due to the fact it took me a little while to find out. I'm pleased to say, that this post has helped out many people. Recently I received this comment. Whocares Looks like they've rebuilt the interface because i couldnt find any dropdown menu or any delete buttons. How to remove pictures on Yfrog updated So I hopped on over to Yfrog.  It seems things have indeed changed, in fact Yfrog recently had a complete overhaul on design with virtually a new product: you can tweet directly from their site, photos are more organised and it looks much more professional now.  This new design is apparently in beta and is being pushed out to people slowly so you may not have seen it yet.  It does look easier to use now, so hopefully people won't have so much difficulty but just in case, this is how you remove photos now. Click Profile Click Photos (or videos) Do not click the picture - because when you hover over the photo that you [...]

I love these Incredible Personalised Christmas Cards

By | December 13th, 2010|Categories: Uncategorized|Tags: , , , , , , , |

I wanted to share with you a brilliant way I've found to send personalised christmas cards online.    I wanted to use some of my designs that I had created to send as Christmas cards this year and I found this fantastic website called http://www.touchnote.com  You can create your own card using their designs or use your own photos to create cards and add your own message inside.    First I joined up and waited for the confirmation email to confirm (funnily enough).  Then I could start creating.    Personalised Christmas Cards as easy as 1,2-5     Upload your picture (or choose one of their designs)  (upload from Facebook, Picasa, or your pc)  Choose from 3 different designs. - Greeting Card, Postcard or Touchnote card.  Resize it   If you want you can also .......  Add speech bubbles and or text  Add fun things like icons, graphics or disguises other special effects Use the paint tool to add things yourself.    Enter your message inside with a choice of colour, fonts and alignment.    Then you can choose to either have them sent to you if you [...]

Best Camera N8 or iphone? Who Cares.

By | October 3rd, 2010|Categories: Uncategorized|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , |

There has been a lot of controversy this weekend about which mobile phone has a better camera , or more importantly takes better photographs, namely the Nokia N8 and the Apple iphone. Although its not just now, comparing camera's on camera phones is always going on, I don't get it!If you want a high quality photograph, buy a camera! As an almost average user, I believe a camera on a mobile phone is just a wonderful added extra, its useful to have if you want to take a shot of where you are to send to your friends or a shot of something funny to post on to Twitter or Facebook.  Those photos do not have to be perfect, those photos just need to be seen.   I have an iphone and I personally cannot get very good pictures out of it, I'm not that fussed.  I know some people that take brilliant shots using the iphone, I don't know if they use app's or Photoshop to make them better but if I want to post something to twitter, its just [...]
