It's almost a year since Twitter announced that it was changing to a newly re-engineered Twitter.com They said you will be able to use it as a preview for a few weeks. You'll be able to switch back and forth for a few weeks to get used to how it works. I love new things, so I eagerly rushed over to New Twitter, only to be bitterly disappointed with what I saw. So I switched back again, I did try it a few times knowing that the time will come that Twitter will make us change. However I just didn't like New Twitter so I stuck with what I loved; Old Twitter. Armegeddon arrives Then last night, in the dead of the night, we were informed by @twitter that Old Twitter is being dumped for New Twitter. You may have noticed that twitter has made some changes today; Twitter's homepage has been redesigned into a more formal layout. The top tweets have been replaced with popular tweeters profile pictures which take you to their twitter page when you click. Maybe this was the reason for the downtime earlier. The background image is a map now, which fits with the slogan "instant updates from your friends, industry experts, favorite celebrites, and what's happening around the world." This comes just days after Twitter announced on their Twitter blog, that they have made it much easier to find and follower Twitter accounts based on your interests.
