ZenOK Offer Free Online Backup with 21GB storage

By | October 2nd, 2011|Categories: Internet Tools|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |

ZenOK  was founded by Ron Hessing in 2005 on the belief that data is the most valurable asset people and businesses own today. ZenOK have recently increased their free back up from 2GB to 21GB of storage. "Online Backup for everyone! It is free and remains free, forever!" Ron Hessing - Founder (August 15th, 2011) ZenOK is an experiment in a new kind of Online Backup built on the idea that you should never have to lose your documents, spreadsheets and photos (again), and you should always be able to access the file you want. I know the feeling of losing important data -  it is not good!  I had a damaged hard drive which took a hell of a lot of work to retrieve some documents and files that I hadn't backed up. I eventually used Ubuntu live CD to recover the lost data - it worked but it was lucky.  Now I am much more conscious of backing things up.  I don't put all of my eggs in one basket either, just incase that fails.  So these online backup systems are of great use, [...]

Clever Facebook 7th Birthday Scam

By | September 10th, 2011|Categories: Scams|Tags: , , , , , , |

Facebook users are  being lead to believe that they can get a free pair of shoes as a special gift from Facebook as a birthday celebration. To redeem your gift all you have to do is verify your Facebook account by logging into Facebook mobile. There is even a video showing you how to do this to make it seem even more realistic and because it is quite tricky to find your facebook mobile email.  You then have to complete a survey (which is how they earn their money)  This should always be an alarm for users, surveys on Facebook are usually dodgy. Another alarm for us, is that you never get anything for free - free iPad click here, how often do you see that, do you click it? Free shoes? No pictures or sizing?  Apparently there is also one of these that has free T-shirts. If you do this you have allowed the scammer to use your Facebook account and post status updates or upload videos to your profile as they now have your facebookmobile email address, which is what this [...]

What's more, its completely free, there are no adds, there is no registration and no need to add contacts.  What Viber does is use your existing contacts and numbers and puts an icon on the name if they have downloaded Viber.  If they haven't yet downloaded Viber you can send a free text message to tell them.  You can also use Viber from anywhere in the world!   From what I see, there is no reason not to try it. It get better ... Viber now has an update; Version 2.0.1 has added free text messaging.
