How to Hard Reset the Microsoft Lumia 435

By | May 7th, 2015|Categories: Mobile - Reviews and News|Tags: |

I was recently given a Lumia 435 to trial from Connects (previously 1000 Heads) and as always I needed instructions on How to Hard Reset the Microsoft Lumia 435, so that I could remove all of my content, before I sent it back.  This can vary from phone to phone, usually is the same with a manufacturer but its been a while since I had a Nokia / Microsoft phone to play with. Acutally I believe the last one that I reviewed is the Nokia Lumia 900 although I did trial another when I was thinking of switching from Apple. I'm not to go into the details of the Microsoft Lumia 435 trial right now, that's for another post, but I just thought some people might find this information useful. The first is a Factory reset and the second is the Hard reset - The difference is that a factory reset is rebooting the entire system -  and a hard reset resets all of the hardware in the system. There is a whole website dedicated to explaining the difference - please check it out. Difference between Factory Reset [...]

Mobile phones for kids – you decide!

By | June 21st, 2014|Categories: Mobile - Reviews and News|Tags: , , |

A big choice, mobile phones for kids - There have been many discussions on my social networks recently about the right age for a child to have a mobile phone.  When you first hear your kid saying  "I want an iPhone" it will probably be at such a young age you can say – "When you are older maybe", but as time goes on, you will need to address this situation. I think, the age and what mobile phone you get for  your kid, is a big choice.  It seems that many children don't get far past the age of 12 before having a phone, and many of those will be a smartphone. I guess the first thing to say is that all kids are different, and all phones are different, there might be different needs required. There is a big difference between a mobile or cell phone to a smartphone. Most Kids will obviously want the best most expensive phone on the market; they might be a tech freak or probably just want to show off to their friends, in [...]

iOS game – The Amazing World of Stubies

By | March 2nd, 2014|Categories: Games, Mobile - Reviews and News|Tags: , , |

This has to be the cutest iOS game - The Amazing World of Stubies!  These little guys are just too cute, and I just love the colours. Stubies is the creation of Lukas Bahrle & Andreu Taberner from Creatiu lab in Barcelona, when you first see it you think it is a very simple colour matching game, but the more you play it the more challenges you have. What is this iOS game - The Amazing World of Stubies Stubies is a 100% indie game  and its only 0.69p to buy on iTunes.  If you like puzzle games for your iPhone or iPad you will like this one, and if you like cute, then this is the game for you.  69p is a small price to pay to have these cute little characters running about all over your screen. Basically you have to match the colours and to do that you to make them walk into each other or avoid each other Stubies depending on what type of Stubie they are.   As I said before it starts off really easy just [...]

Smartphone Stats Which Companies Are Winning The Race

By | December 12th, 2013|Categories: Mobile - Reviews and News|Tags: , , , , , |

I always find Smartphone Stats interesting, and Earl Ray of Coupon Audit created this infographic for me to show which companies are winning the race with some interesting statistics taken from many sources, listed at the bottom of the infographic. Surprising Smartphone Stats Its starts of by telling us that there are 4 billion active smartphones in the world, that is amazing as I remember reading last October that the world had just passed a total of 1 billion smartphones in the world. The infographic states that it should take another 3 years to reach 8 billion.  There are only 7 billion people in the world now so this is saying in 3 years there will be another billion people on the planet.  If that is right I can't see that they will all have smartphones, however .. if they could, this would be easily be achievable sooner infact. Another surprising smartphone stat is that a huge 6.3% of smartphone owners are 13-17 years old and only 17.2% are 18-24 years old. I won't carry on telling you what you [...]

By | November 12th, 2013|Categories: Mobile - Reviews and News|

Setting up MMS or Internet on your T-Mobile Phone

By | September 19th, 2011|Categories: Mobile - Reviews and News|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , |

If you have changed your phone or swapped sim cards to another handset you might be frustrated to find that you cannot connect to your social media networks or send MMS (picture messages). That is because you need to be setting up MMS again. You may have even received a text message from T-Mobile asking your to set up these services and to reply to 34967 however it sometimes it doesn't work - the message comes back that it cannot be sent to this address. Strange! I'm not sure why this happens but it appears to be happening to a lot of people - it is the correct number so it doesn't appear to be a scam, but this error is happening and people are confused at how to set up their cell phone.  T-mobile just say that they are having issues. Don't Worry... Setting Up MMS All you have to do is go to the link   http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/help-and-support/index?page=home&cat=SOFTWAREDOWNLOADS and you can send yourself the correct settings anytime for free.  Just follow the onscreen instructions, it takes seconds. Hope this helps

My impressions of the Nokia X7

By | August 26th, 2011|Categories: Mobile - Reviews and News|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |

I was recently given a Nokia X7 to test out for review from WOMworld Nokia  - my first impressions were of the box actually, the box looked more like something that you would get from Apple (except it was blue) than Nokia, not that a box matters really.  It was just compact and smart looking, I hate it when you get a massive box with lots of plastic with a mobile phone lost inside it, there is no need. On opening the box I was met with the stylish 8 megapixel Smartphone with a 4inch Amoled touchscreen. The X7 is pleasing to the eye, as it is not a standard rectangle shape but each of the corners have a grill design which angle inwards slightly creating an unusual and futuristic appearance. It is solid to touch but also light, it feels good quality and comfortable in your hand. The Gorilla glass scratch protection screen not only is great to look at but is very responsive this makes me happy, especially when this phone is designed for entertainment, the last thing you want [...]
