How to Switch Between Two Profile Accounts on Facebook

By | May 21st, 2017|Categories: Social Media|Tags: |

There was an update on the Facebook app recently which prevented me from being able to Switch between two profile accounts on Facebook.  Since once click log in was introduced I've never even thought about how to do this, it was just so easy just to click on the profile picture of the facebook acount - but now I had to enter an email and password everytime I needed to go to another profile account. Of course on Facebook, you aren't allowed to have two profile accounts but you might like me, have to run other people's accounts for them or you might have family that want to use your phone to get to their own accounts. which I've had to do on holiday when no-one else had data!  On Facebook its different its allowed and easy to add multiple Instagram accounts  What Facebook Say About Multiple Accounts Facebook is a community where people use their authentic identities. It's against the Facebook Community Standards to maintain more than one personal account. If you want to represent your business, organization, brand or [...]

#Branding – Creating a Custom LinkedIn URL

By | May 5th, 2017|Categories: Social Media, Tips and Tricks|Tags: |

Today I wanted to help with a very important part of branding - Creating a Custom LinkedIn URL. [URL - Universal Resource Locator meaning - The address of a World Wide Web page] such as https://www.michelleharris.social I didn't realise until today that people still aren't taking the advantage of creating a customer LinkedIn URL. And its so much easier to get than other networks to get. I noticed that one of my clients had the URL that LinkedIn assign you with and so I checked a few more, and I found many people not using the Custom LinkedIn URLs. When you first sign up to LinkedIn and create your account LinkedIn will assign a URL to your account, this URL will be comprised of letters and numbers.  Usually your name with a dash separating it and some numbers. Which looks something like this linkedin.com/in/your-name-b439-4321 This URL isn't good for branding, SEO or getting found on a search. It doesn't look savvy at all - It needs to go right away, and its very simple to do. Creating a Custom LinkedIn URL First, you need to [...]

Everybody Panic Whats App is Down

By | May 3rd, 2017|Categories: Social Media|Tags: , , |

Whatsappdown for many users and we are flocking to other networks to check if its only us or just Virgin Media have broken it again. Users are unable to send or receive chats we are just faced with the whirling "connecting" timer when we attempt to send or read a message. Everybody Panic Whats App is Down Whatsapp being down (not working) is one of the most talked about things on Twitter this evening as people cannot connect to their favourite chat app - some are even threatening to send SMS text messages to their friends and family. At last check there were 1.58 MILLION tweets about Whatsapp The website is it down right now - shows that it is actually working for some people. Whatsapp hasn't tweeted for some time,  so we aren't going to get an answer there - however we have seen tweets that have said its being worked on. The best thing though is just how creative everyone is being with their memes, gifs and images to show their boredom and panic of not being able to [...]

By | April 19th, 2017|Categories: Mobile apps|Tags: |

Emotely - the new social network with feelings, an app where your feelings count.  Emotely is a platform that enables users to express how they feel by sharing their emotions to the world. Emotely has just released a new beta version on iOS which I saw on Betalist.com and  I knew I had to test it out. I've just had a few mins with this app, it's very easy to use but I thought I'd give a quick run down to how it works and let you  know about this new emotional application.   Emotely - the new social network with feelings We know how people love to share how they are feeling with emotes, now they have their own social network to do just that. How to sign up to Emotely With Emotely you can just use your phone to sign up, sort of like you do with Whatsapp - or you can sign in with Twitter, Facebook or your email and a password.  I chose the email sign up route for testing, firstly because I don't think Twitter is [...]

How to Streamline your Twitter Notifications

By | March 21st, 2017|Categories: Social Networks, Tips and Tricks|Tags: |

I'm sure everyone by now should have the new controls which can streamline your Twitter notifications. These settings on mobile and web (Twitter.com) enable us to have better control of our what we see on Twitter in our notifications. Do you click notifications when you go to Twitter and wonder why the heck you need to see all of those messages in your feed when they mean nothing to you?  Sometimes I do - you get tagged in things what you really don't want to see. This can stop you from having to see them in your feed. The settings that you now have available to you mean that you can mute any notifications in your Twitter feed from people you really do not want to hear about, like people who haven't bothered to put up a profile picture or people who haven't confirmed their email.  This makes Twitter much more streamline and prevents us from having to see spammy tweets.  It also stops us from seeing the bullying type tweets from accounts just set up for that purpose.  Remember [...]

Worried about Social Media ROI?

By | March 5th, 2017|Categories: Social Media|Tags: |

Are you on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram posting updates to your hearts content but are still worried about Social Media ROI (Return on investment)  We all know it's very difficult to measure the RIO for Social Media, as it's just not as obvious as other mediums but it's not impossible. We need to remember that Social media success isn’t measured by the number of followers or even the number of likes. "Boom"  there I said it.  Many businesses get so sucked into the vanity numbers game and then they wonder why they are not seeing any Social Media ROI. It's too difficult for businesses to work out if what they are spending is financially viable. Businesses see big numbers and think, wow I should be selling loads of my products now.   The trouble is they are concentrating on things that don’t really matter. Don’t get me wrong - I’m not saying that you cannot measure Social Media RIO or that you shouldn’t even try, you can, but its time to stop thinking about how many followers and likes you have but the [...]

What is Two-Step Verification Two Step verification is a security feature that is designed to prevent anyone else from accessing your accounts or apps. even if they find out your password they still have to know a second layer of security.  Sometimes it's a code sent to your phone, or to your email.
