Will Skorr be a Replacement for Klout?

By | 2018-05-20T20:37:57+00:00 May 20th, 2018|Categories: Social Media|Tags: |

Klout recently informed us that they were closing down on the 25th of May. We don't know if this has anything to do with GDPR or it just happened to be on that date.  Although for me Klout was broken for at least the last 6 months! They kept trying to help. But no matter how many times I (or my friends) told them they seemed to skirt around the answer.  However, suddenly on the horizon, like a shining star we spot Skorr Social and we wonder will Skorr be a replacement for Klout. We had to investigate and we downloaded Skorr Social right away! On first look, it really has a great UI - Klout never had anything half as good. Yes, there are a few teething problems, nothing that that they aren't sorting out - they are brand now folks.  How do I know they are sorting these things out?  Because we are part of a Whatsapp group of Skorr users, #Skorr70 who used to be part of Thomas Powers #klout70 group - learning how to get their [...]

Facebook Working on New Features such as Clear History

By | 2018-05-03T01:09:45+00:00 May 3rd, 2018|Categories: Social Media|Tags: |

On Tuesday at Facebook annual f8 developer conference Mark Zuckerberg informed us of a few new things that they are working on or are implementing - one of which was the news Facebook Working on New Features such as Clear History. This is a great idea, just like how on your browser - ie Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge etc, you can go in to your settings and clear your history of all of the sites you have looked at, apps you have interacted with, everything you have clicked on or clear the cookies from those sites. Facebook is going to have the same thing...! We hadn't written about Facebook since our post on how to download your Facebook data.   After Facebook's privacy practices were put under investigation, but now we have some action! Facebook Working on New Features such as Clear History So with Facebooks new Clear History option, you will just be able to click a button to clear all of that information - Cookies and History from your account, you will also be able to just turn [...]

Twitter is cracking down on multiple accounts bulk tweeting

By | 2018-03-29T15:11:32+00:00 March 29th, 2018|Categories: Social Media|Tags: |

I feel I'm letting you know this news a bit late, platforms and apps have were warned in FeEburuary that this would go into effect on the 23rd of March!  So, whats going on -  Twitter is cracking down on multiple accounts bulk tweeting because they are finally trying to get rid of spammers.  I haven't been this please since I read about Twitter finally stamping down on Auto DMs - the other twitter Spam What does it mean, Twitter is cracking down on multiple accounts bulk tweeting It means if you have more than one account, and are sending the same tweet out from all of them, even if staggered, you could get banned. Yoel Roth on the Twitter Developer blog told 3rd parties, that Twitter were changing the APL to limit the ability of users to perform coordinated actions across multiple accounts.  And changing the use on Tweetdeck.  They see it as spam, and they are really trying hard to crack down on spam. I think it's a good idea, too many people are ruining Twitter by gaming the [...]

How can I download a copy of my Facebook data?

By | 2018-03-27T02:32:04+00:00 March 27th, 2018|Categories: Social Media|Tags: |

Facebook's privacy practices are now under investigation, as confirmed by the Federal Trade Commission and everyone is asking what has Facebook got on me and How can I download a copy of my Facebook data. Its been a while since I wrote about Facebook, its usually about scams or Facebook live but not this time, now people are not happy with Facebook, they have lost trust. Don't panic - its really easy to Download your information and you can then see, if it's worse than you thought. Although its not likely to be all of the data since you joined Facebook, stuff that has been deleted will have been deleted from Facebook's servers. Facebook help say this... Remember, most of your Facebook data is available to you by logging into your account. Also note the categories of data we receive, collect, and save may change over time. We'll update these tables if that happens. So what they are saying is most of the information here, is readily available on your account - either stuff you have shared with the world (your [...]

How to write a blog post

By | 2018-03-12T17:46:10+00:00 March 12th, 2018|Categories: Social Media|Tags: |

Anyone can write a blog post, we all have our own styles and our own topics that we wish to share with the world – or our few readers.  However, not everyone knows how to write a blog post that people will read.  People are lazy and they can't be bothered to read something unless it grabs them in the first few minutes. And some blog posts just ramble on and on, with no structure, others don't really have a point to the blog post and you can just read the struggle they had with the blog post. Why do I need to write blog posts anyway? Businesses always say they never have time to write blog posts.  They are actually lazy about writing blog posts.  Mostly because they don't know what to write or how to write it - but if you have started a business its probably because you are an expert at something or know more than most people about the subject.  So it’s the best way to get people to know who you are, what you [...]

By | 2018-02-28T21:39:12+00:00 February 27th, 2018|Categories: Social Media|Tags: |

Vero the new social network that says it's not going to use ads and that it will be free for the first 1 million people who sign up - has gone a bit viral - and many people are asking How to use Vero. There has been a lot of noise about Vero on the Internet this week with lots of the top newspapers and websites posting articles and blog post about Vero - This is causing Vero to struggle a bit with demand so bare with it. If you see a message saying server-side service timeout - please try again later - either just leave it and wait - as what you were doing usually pops up - or try later. Also, many people have downloaded Vero in a panic to not feel left out FOMO not knowing anything about it at all - and so then they don't know how to use it, I'm seeing tweets on Twitter, saying right now I've to Vero and I don't know how to use it.  What does Vero do, what is Vero, [...]

I just wanted to tell you about StartUp Dash - the free mobile game that teaches kids how to be an entrepreneur as it is such a brilliant idea.    The game which is an Action Adventure Runner was created by Julian Hall from Ultra Gaming Ltd who has the vision to help 10 Million kids age 7-18 by 2020 amplify the idea of "Entrepreneurship".  I just realised that haven't written about a mobile game for some time, in fact, Stubies might have been the last one! This game is a bit different however, it's not just a game, it a game that is set to inspire and teach business to the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders through gaming fun.  It is really just for kids but us adults are having great fun with it too. Mobile gaming a fantastic way to reach people, with over 2.1 billion mobile gamers in the world and kids spending over 2  hours per day playing games on their phones, I can see this being very popular, learn and play at the same time, [...]
