By | October 10th, 2017|Categories: Social Media|Tags: |

Are Twitter finally stamping down on Auto DMs or Direct Messages? Its seems so as a letter that the Crowdfire has received has warned them that they are going against Twitter policies. the app that helps you grow your social media accounts has been told by Twitter that the Auto DM feature that they and other apps Crowdfire App Crowdfire is an app that helps you grow your social media accounts. With the app, you can follow and unfollow and you can also set it to send auto DMs when someone follows you.   Twitter does not like automation and if you get caught this can mean your account being suspended. I used to use Crowdfire a lot because it was one of the only apps around that used to tell you who had unfollowed you on twitter and they used to also tell you who unfollowed you on Instagram but I believe that was a paid feature or maybe this was also banned from Instagram. Twitter finally stamping down on Auto DMs These automation features have been around for a while on Crowdfire,  but it [...]

Why do I need to be on Instagram

By | June 25th, 2017|Categories: Social Media|Tags: |

I've had several entrepreneurs and businesses owners ask me, why do I need to be on Instagram. Business owners and brands just don't get why they need to be on Instagram. With over 600 million ACTIVE users, Instagram is a great platform for many brands and small businesses.  It's really a trick that they should not be missing.  Of course, you may want to look at the demographics for Instagram before you jump in and sign up for an account. Why do I need to be on Instagram? Research from the Pew Research Center discovered that in 2016... Around one-third of online adults (32%) report using Instagram – roughly the same share as in 2015, when 27% of online adults did so. I would imagine its a lot more than that now. It's not just celebrity accounts that are the top accounts on Instagram, with Selena Gomaz in the lead with her 121m followers.   It seems that beauty and fashion brands are doing very well too - a report from L2 in 2015 said that brands get so much more engagement [...]

By | May 21st, 2017|Categories: Social Media|Tags: |

There was an update on the Facebook app recently which prevented me from being able to Switch between two profile accounts on Facebook.  Since once click log in was introduced I've never even thought about how to do this, it was just so easy just to click on the profile picture of the facebook acount - but now I had to enter an email and password everytime I needed to go to another profile account. Of course on Facebook, you aren't allowed to have two profile accounts but you might like me, have to run other people's accounts for them or you might have family that want to use your phone to get to their own accounts. which I've had to do on holiday when no-one else had data!  On Facebook its different its allowed and easy to add multiple Instagram accounts  What Facebook Say About Multiple Accounts Facebook is a community where people use their authentic identities. It's against the Facebook Community Standards to maintain more than one personal account. If you want to represent your business, organization, brand or [...]

#Branding – Creating a Custom LinkedIn URL

By | May 5th, 2017|Categories: Social Media, Tips and Tricks|Tags: |

Today I wanted to help with a very important part of branding - Creating a Custom LinkedIn URL. [URL - Universal Resource Locator meaning - The address of a World Wide Web page] such as https://www.michelleharris.social I didn't realise until today that people still aren't taking the advantage of creating a customer LinkedIn URL. And its so much easier to get than other networks to get. I noticed that one of my clients had the URL that LinkedIn assign you with and so I checked a few more, and I found many people not using the Custom LinkedIn URLs. When you first sign up to LinkedIn and create your account LinkedIn will assign a URL to your account, this URL will be comprised of letters and numbers.  Usually your name with a dash separating it and some numbers. Which looks something like this linkedin.com/in/your-name-b439-4321 This URL isn't good for branding, SEO or getting found on a search. It doesn't look savvy at all - It needs to go right away, and its very simple to do. Creating a Custom LinkedIn URL First, you need to [...]
