Instagram say – We are NOT going to sell your photos and WE do not own them!

By | December 18th, 2012|Categories: Social Media|Tags: , , , , |

There was a storm caused today on the internet, with people saying they are not going to use instragram anymore over changes to their privacy policy posted on the instagram blog yesterday, that they are going to cancel their accounts.  It was said everywhere that Instagram now own your photos and could sell your images to advertisers, they say this is not true. People are confused and upset say Instagram Instagram insist that they are NOT going to use our photos in advertisements and that Instagram does not have any ownership right over your photos either. You own your own instagram photos.  They say that they worded this badly and they are glad that they didn't intend to make any changes for 30 days so that they can change the wording so that it is clearer in the document. http://blog.instagram.com/post/38252135408/thank-you-and-were-listening The language we proposed also raised question about whether your photos can be part of an advertisement. How to insert iFrame on WordPress, without a plugin or a widget

By | December 16th, 2012|Categories: Tips and Tricks|

What is an iFrame An iFrame which stands for Inline Frame,  nothing to do with iPod iPhone or any Apple product - is an HTML code that creates a window that is embedded on to your website from another website - The thing about iFrames is that the web designer can change an iFrame content without you even knowing and years ago were subject to hackers placing malicious iFrame codes. However, usually you know the source of the code and are happy to use it on your website. Recently I wanted to use an iFrame for a post I was writing about HugtrainUSA who are raising money and awareness for mental health this christmas - and the code was created with pictures and a donation button that when pressed took you directly to the site to donate, this is so much better than just a link. This is the code pasted into Visual <iframe src="http://bbrfoundation.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=widgets.250x250minimal&amp;participantID=5418" width="252" height="252" frameborder="0" scrolling="no">&lt;a href="http://bbrfoundation.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.personalCampaign&amp;#038;participantID=5418"&gt;Make a Donation!&lt;/a&gt;</iframe> How to insert an iFrame on Wordpress I was typing as I usually do in Visual not HTML - [...]

By | December 8th, 2012|Categories: Social Media|Tags: , , , , |

This week Google+ introduced Communities - which are much like Facebook Groups, a place where you can gather together with like-minded people and chat about chosen topics. The Google Official Blog tells us that the options are as follows. Public or private membership to support all kinds of groups—from topics and interests to local neighborhoods to regular poker nights Discussion categories to find the conversations you care about most The option to start hangouts and plan events with community members The ability to share with your community from any +1 button across the web Anyone can create a community on anything they like, and invite people to join. How to start a Google+ community This is quite simple to create as we saw yesterday with so many invites for communities coming through it was overwhelming, but if you need help follow these instructions. Go to the communities icon on the left Click the red button on the top right (create a community) Make it public or private - and name the community. Click create a community Now its created you have a number [...]
