Syrinx Za – a small business using Social media

By | October 31st, 2012|Categories: Social Media|Tags: , , , , , , , |

Credit webtreats.mysitemyway.com   After my post "Why aren't all SME's using Social Media"  I have been in many discussions  about small businesses on social media, such as why do they need to be? Why do small businesses need social media? This is what they need to ask themselves.  Its said that maybe small business do not have the budget to be everywhere all of the time but they can have a presence and they need to have one.   Let me put it this way if a business are promoting a product that women who are mothers might buy for instance, look at the figures - a study from eMarketer showed that this year 28 million mums will use social networks! Syrinx ZA are a company that know this, they know that on social networks they are not just a website or an advert, here they can be personal and build strong relationships and networks.  Syrinx ZA are available to offer advice and answer any questions about skincare  eczema, psoriasis and other skin conditions on all the major networks. They [...]

What does 1GB data allowance mean – Mobile

By | October 27th, 2012|Categories: Mobile apps|Tags: , , , , |

What is data allowance I hate being restricted to how much mobile data allowance I have - you are never sure how  much you you are using.  Thats why if I can, I will always go for unlimited, or as Three.uk call it  All-you-can-eat-data when sorting out my tariffs. When going on holiday people are always asking me - how long can I go on the internet for if I only have so much data allowance per day - the trouble is it doesn't really work that way - it depends what you are doing. Orange now have an app to help you with holiday useage called Travel Angel - on iTunes - I haven't tested it yet, and to be honest it doesn't have good reviews but it looks to be perfect for setting up holiday packages and keeping an eye on data usage - more about that later. Three uk know that people are very confused about how much data certain websites or operations use, so they have created this infographic to show the difference between All-you-can-eat-data and 1GB data [...]

How do I remove the Ask toolbar from Google Chrome

By | October 20th, 2012|Categories: Tips and Tricks|Tags: , , , , , , |

How do I remove the Ask toolbar from Google Chrome I'm not sure how I got this darn thing, but I have been downloading a few different drawing packages so I'm assuming I allowed it entry from something there. What was happening is that every time I put a word in the address bar (omnibox) - whereas normally it would bring up Google search - this annoying Ask search thing would come up. Look what happens when I type in Walk Off The Earth in the address bar......   <-- see my review there - Great Band Useless!! These are Asksupports instructions that didn't work for me but they might for you. To remove the Ask Tool Bar from Chrome - In an open Chrome browser, click on the Wrench In the top right-hand corner of the browser window. - Hover over Tools In the menu that appears and click on Extensions. - Locate the Ask extension and click the Remove button next to it. - Click Uninstall In the box that appears. - Close and re-open your browser. To reset your Chrome homepage, [...]

How to find Parental Controls for Smartphones.

Creative commons picture - by Enricod - http://www.flickr.com/photos/enricod/6989554817/ October marks the ninth annual National Cybersecurity Awareness Month sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security, so I assumed there would be a few interesting posts about raising awareness about cyber security. However - Today I read in the Telegraph, that parents are worried that children can get porn on their mobile phones.... While of course I do want our children to be able to use the internet and be safe - I feel this is slightly exaggerated or maybe parents just aren't informed and unaware. When they say mobile phone of course, they actually mean Smartphone - a smartphone is a mobile phone that is built on a mobile operating systems allowing internet connectivity. I don't really want to debate about why on earth these parents would they buy a child a smartphone when maybe the kids isn't responsible or savvy enough not to click things that lead to adult sites, but porn is all over the internet, we know this. If they just had a normal feature phone that just took calls - [...]

Cardio Lie Detector iPhone Application

By | October 6th, 2012|Categories: Mobile apps|Tags: , , , , |

I was recently asked to review the Cardio Lie Detector Premium from Ubinuri the Korean software application company who also brought us the app MyLAB PRO.  Ubinuri interesting has recently been invested in by INFOCOM  - Infocom is one of the leading IT companies in Japan. Cardio Lie Detector Cardio Lie Detector Premium is an simple application for your iPhone or iPad that can tell if you are telling a lie or the truth.   The lie detector uses the camera to first sample your heart rate and then when you are being subjected to questioning it compares it to your heart rate to the original sample - because when you lie your heart rate increases.  You can watch this all happening the screen as the application detects your heartbeat. 1. Put your finger over the Camera at the back of the Phone 2. Press start to measure normal heart rate 3. Press start again to ask questions 4. You will get a percentage rating to say if what percentage of a chance it is you are lying.         [...]
